Obituary for Brandy A. Miller
Miller, Brandy A. - 18 of Portage, Tragically took her own life on July 23, 2017. She was born on October 14, 1998 in Johnstown. The daughter of Ralph and Lelou (Evans) Miller.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Eilean and John Evans, her aunt, Robin Reed, her sister, Krystallee Serenko and her cousin, Brian Burdett.
Brandy is survived by her parents and these siblings: Jesse Evans and wife Kelly of GA; Christina wife of Brian Berkhimer of Sidman; Francis Serenko, III and wife Maria, and Joshua Serenko and wife Anna, all of South Fork. Brandy is also survived by her grandmothers: Alma Piper of Portage; Sandi Harvey and Carol Evans of FL and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
A 2017 graduate of Portage Area High School, where she enjoyed being a part of the Rifle Team and helping to coach others. Brandy took Auto Body Classes at Admiral Peary Vo-Tech and was enrolled in GJCTC in the fall for Auto Mechanics. She planned on attending Penn College for Classic Car Restoration. She was currently employed at Stagers Surplus Store in Portage. Brandy accepted the Lord in her heart and found her church family at Faith Chapel in Richland.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. of Portage. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Faith Chapel in Richland, Pastor Andrew Taylor, officiant. Committal will be held in St. Nicholas Church Cemetery in Nicktown.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Brandy’s name to Faith Chapel, 730 Sunberry Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 and/or in care of Decort Funeral Home Inc., 532 Main Street, Portage, PA 15946 for a charity of the family’s choice.
