Obituary for Agnes A. Stager
90 of Portage, passed away on December 22, 2018 in Sidman. She was born on January 14, 1928 in Lilly. Agnes was the daughter of Paul and Mary (Koken) Lusick.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Kenneth J. Stager, a sister Helen Baron and a brother-in-law: George Lukacs.
Agnes is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Vrabel of Portage and her grandchildren: Jennifer wife of Michael Kanuch of Lilly and Eric Vrabel of Midlothian VA. She is also survived by her 2 great grandsons: Griffin and Jack Kanuch of Lilly and her siblings: Michael Lusick and wife Doreen of The Villages in FL and Margaret Lukacs of Lilly.
Agnes graduated in 1945 from Lilly as Valedictorian of her class. She was a former member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Polish Catholic Church. She was also a former member of the Lilly Slavish Citizens Club. She served as a Clerk and Administrative Assistant for over 40 years at Stagers Surplus Store in Portage. She loved to read, shop, and work in her yard. Her faith and family were everything to her. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandsons.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile Celebrant. Inurnment in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Portage will be private to the family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Agnes name to the American Heart Association and/or the Portage Volunteer Fire Company. Online condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com
