Obituary for Agnes E. Eckenrode
Eckenrode, Agnes E. - 85 of New Castle , formerly of Portage. Passed away on December 24, 2012 at Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Born November 26, 1927 in Benscreek. The daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Bertak) Tutsock. Preceded in death by parents, Husband: Albert "Pete" Eckenrode, whom she married on August 11, 1952, siblings: John , Andrew, Michael, Robert and Thomas Tutsock and Mary Novak. Survived by son James Eckenrode of Stow, OH. Sister of James Tutsock (Darlene), of St. Benedict, PA; Irene Higbee of FL; Dorothy Irvin (James) of Portage; Tillie Pallone of Portage; Anne Cochran of FL and Evy Wanamaker of VA and sister-in-law: Virginia Eckenrode. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Agnes was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church of New Castle and also a member of the Christian Mothers. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and a former long -time Avon representative. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Walter Moll, Celebrant. Committal in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Cresson. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Jameson Hospital in New Castle for their excellent care of Agnes.
