Obituary for Alice JoAnne Lamar
Alice JoAnne, 72, Portage, died July 25, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 20, 1940, in Shoemaker, daughter of Francis C. and Carrie Irma (Benton) Maul. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Joseph; and brother, Richard Maul. Survived by husband of 52 years, David G., Lamar, Portage, whom she married April 23, 1960; children, Susan, wife of Allen McQuillen, Portage; Carrie, wife of Daniel Bobrowicz, Norristown; Samuel D., married to Diana New, Portage; Kathy, wife of David Kleman, Gallitzin; Rebecca, wife of Thomas Canavan, Portage; and Thomas H., Portage; grandchildren, Anthony, Garrett (Heidi Gill), Meagan, Emily, Samuel E., Alison, Zachary, Jonathan, Kelsey, Elizabeth, Hunter and Isabella; great-granddaughter, Leah; Brothers, Walter and Myrna Maul, Alfred and Linda Maul and Thomas and Sandy Maul; sister-in-law, Pearl Maul, widow of Richard; and brother-in-law, Duane and Connie Lamar, all of Portage; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Portage, where she participated in the choir and taught Sunday school. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Portage, and from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, the Rev. John Palko.
