Obituary for Amanda M. Koenigsberg
"Mandy" - 49 of Ebensburg, passed away on August 9th, 2020 in Altoona. She was born March 13th, 1971 in RAF Station Lakenheath, West Suffolk, England. She was the daughter of Russell and Patricia (Gorham) Conklin. Mandy is preceded in death by her father and her brother: Robert Conklin. She is survived by her loving husband: Rob Koenigsberg and her mother: Patricia Conklin of Ebensburg; her siblings: Theresa (Don) Lutch of Hastings; Russell Jr. “Tom” (Cindy) Conklin of Coupon; Kenneth (Cheryl) Conklin of Carrolltown; Kathy “Kate” (Leroy) Bender of Ebensburg and Lynda (James) Lankford of Portage, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special niece: LeAnn Hessler. LeAnn’s selfless act of a kidney donation gave Mandy an extra 13 years of life. Mandy was the Patriotic Instructor for the Allied Orders Auxillary to the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Mary Campbell Tent #16. She was the tent president and a charter member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War: 1861-1865. She also served as the Junior Vice President of the Womans Relief Corp. Mandy and Rob enjoyed traveling together and visiting National Parks and also researching living history. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 13th, 2020 at 10 AM at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Loretto. Committal will be private to the family.
