Obituary for Ann L. Stancovich
Stancovich, Ann L. - 93 of Portage. Went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2012. Born January 29, 1919 in Jamestown. The daughter of Albert and Julia (Buffick) Kopnicky. Preceded in death by parents, husband Frank Stancovich and these siblings: brothers, John, Steve, Joseph, Albert and Michael Kopnicky, and sisters: Margaret Kopnicky and Mary Turzak. Survived by children: Mary Ann Lapina & friend Jim McClelland of Ebensburg, Frank Stancovich & wife Gloria (Prozialeck) of SC, Kenneth Stancovich & wife Bernadine (Valine) of North Huntington and Joseph Stancovich & wife Gail (Helsel) of Portage. 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law: Verna Moll and June Stancovich and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo and pinochle, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Portage. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Hammers Street, Portage, Fr. Walter Moll and Fr. Joseph Janiszeski, Co-Concelebrants. Committal in St. Mary Cemetery of Portage.
