Obituary for Barbara J. (McClelland) Hentz
Hetz Barbara J. - 88, of Conshohocken, formerly of Portage, died on January 23, 2020 at her family’s home in Portage, PA. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard E. Hentz. She was born in Portage, PA on February 22, 1931 to the late John Alexander and Edna Grace (Hogan) McClelland. Barbara was a graduate of Portage High School class of 1949 and also Cambria County Business School. She was formerly employed as an Operator for Bell Telephone, and also worked for Lansdale Tube and Philco. She was also a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed watching her soap operas on TV. Barbara is survived by her 3 children Karen L. Desimone and David of Collegeville, Marla J. Vivino of Collegeville, Melissa M. Simpson of Conshohocken, 5 grandchildren Kalie Marie Desimone, Brielle N. Vivino, Selena L. Vivino, Tyler G. Simpson, Cole M. Simpson, her sister Marlene A. McClelland of Portage, and a son-in-law Jim Simpson of NJ. She was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Anthony E. Vivino, and 2 baby brothers Robert J. and John A. McClelland. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing from 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA. Interment will be Private at George Washington Memorial Park.
