Obituary for Beatrice J. Coffee
Coffee, Beatrice, J. - 89 of Portage, passed away on October 10, 2017 in Portage. She was born on January 20, 1928 in New Eagle, PA. The daughter of Joseph and Clare (Johnson) Hernandez.
Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Leona and her husband, Lawrence R. Coffee, Sr.
She is survived by her children: Lawrence Coffee, Jr. and wife Janice (Baith) of Portage Twp.; Joseph Coffee and wife Cindy (Inihar) of California; Rosemarie wife of Edwin Miller, and Kathleen wife of James Rejc, all of Michigan. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and a brother-in-law: Ronald Coffee and wife Patricia of Michigan. She was a member of the former Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Portage. Beatrice loved needle point and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her family.
At Beatrice’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. The Family invites friends to attend a funeral mass on Thursday at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Kevin Queally, Celebrant. Entombment will be held in St. Francis Xavier Mausoleum in Cresson.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Beatrice’s name to Holy Family People Helping People Fund, 509 Caldwell Avenue of Portage. The Coffee family is being served by the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home Inc. of Portage.
