Obituary for Bruce A. Morgan
Morgan, Bruce A. - 69 of Portage entered into the Lords presence on April 22, 2012 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born August 6, 1942 in Portage. The son of Charles and Leona (McDonnell) Morgan. Preceded in death by parents and brother John Morgan. Survived by loving wife: Carol (Peachman) Morgan and these children: Jerry A. Morgan and wife Rhonda of Westfield, NC; Terry C. wife of Tom Madigan and Eric J. Morgan and wife Mary, all of Portage. Also survived by grandchildren: Andy Morgan, Alyssa, Brandon, Alexis and Brad Madigan, step grandchildren: Jeffery, Jessica and Chrissy Weyandt and 5 great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law Joyce Morgan of Delaware and Patricia Hay of Portage; Aunts Gladys Stombaugh and Arlene McDonnell, both of Portage and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his faithful canine companion Rosie Lee. Brother of Robert Morgan and wife Eileen of Trapp, PA; Cathy wife of David Hoopes of Collegeville and Gladys wife of Alan Costello of Graterford, PA. Bruce was a former member of the Portage Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Elder, Trustee on the Church Board and Choir member. He was currently in attendance also at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Portage. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era as a Sharpshooter . Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM on Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM on Thursday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bethany United Methodist Church, Portage. Pastor Maryann Long and Pastor C. Tim Miller, co-officiating. Committal in Mount Union Cemetery, Summerhill. Graveside Military Rites by the Portage Volunteer Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the family or to the Bethany United Methodist Church in Bruce's memory.
