Obituary for Catherine M. Walters
Walters, Catherine M. “Cathy”, 58 of Benscreek, Portage Township, passed away on May 1, 2024 in Johnstown. She was born on January 16, 1966 in Elizabeth, NJ. Cathy was the daughter of Dorothy M. (Ratosky) and Philip R. Walters of Benscreek. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Catherine “Ell” (Eamigh) and John Ratosky, her paternal grandparents, Mary (Novotny) and Frank Walters. She is also preceded in death by her uncles, Donald Ratosky and Edward Walters and her cousin, Sheri Ratosky.
Cathy is survived by her parents and her uncles and aunt, Dennis Ratosky, Sr. and his wife Kathy (Crynock) of Jamestown, David Ratosky and his wife Cindy (Willinsky) of Portage, Francis Walters of OH, Mary Ann Sekowski of OH and John Walters of MD and numerous cousins.
Cathy was a 1983 graduate of Portage Area High School and a graduate of Cambria Rowe Business College.
She was formerly employed as a secretary for MetLife and as a secretary and dental assistant for Dr. Robert J. Peppetti, DDS. Cathy was a very caring person. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday, May 5th, 2024 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage, where Parastas will be sung at 7:30 PM that evening. Divine Liturgy will be sung at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 6th, 2024 at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. James Spontak, Celebrant. Interment in Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery in Summerhill.
