Obituary for Charles H. Walls, Sr.
Walls, Charles H., Sr. - 90 of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Portage, passed away on August 16, 2016 in Hollidaysburg. He was born on May 7, 1926 in Martindale, PA. He was the son of William C. and Verna (Metz) Walls. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty (Douglas) Walls, a son: Charles “Butch” Walls, Jr. and three brothers: David, Thomas and Alfred Walls. He is survived by his loving companion: Mary Lou Price of Duncansville and her sons: Donnie and Tim. Charles is also survived by a grandson: William Walls and his wife Toni of MD, a granddaughter: Sherry Puckett of VA, three great grandsons: Tyler and Derek Walls and Dakota Puckett, Sisters: Nancy Behe of Portage and Verna Faye wife of Marty Myers of Spring Cove, sisters-in-law: Delores Walls of Portage and Miriam Walls of Spring Cove and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles proudly served his Country as a WWII Army Veteran, stationed in Germany with the 70th Trailblazers and also the 3rd Army, 3rd Division, 274th Infantry Regiment. He formerly lived in Detroit, Michigan, where he retired from Northland Shopping Center as the head of maintenance. He was also a member of the former Blue Knob Sportsmans. Family will receive friends from 2PM until time of funeral service at 5PM on Friday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of Portage.
