Obituary for Charles Plishka
Plishka, Charles – 82 of Martinsburg, formerly of New Germany, passed away on November 16, 2022 in Roaring Spring, PA. He was born on January 1, 1940 in Beaverdale. Charles was the son of Makar and Eva (Timchak) Plishka. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Joan (Dzurenko) Plishka and his siblings: Michael, John, Ann, Harry, Mary, Helen, Paul, George, Frank, Nick, Madge and Joseph.
Charles is survived by his children: Therese Joan wife of Ron Hollen of Johnstown; Annette Marie Plishka of Castle Rock, CO; Charles Martin Plishka of Baton Rouge, LA; and Stephen Nicholas Plishka of Reston, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Alex Rohal (Danielle) of Pittsburgh, Xenia Rush of KY, Isabella Baird of Castle Rock, CO, Jeremy Rush of Mich, Luisa Moore (David) of Mich and great grandchildren: Kyla, Nolan and Nora Moore all of Mich and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Steve Plishka and wife Marion of FL.
Charles was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Beaverdale. He was a retired respiratory therapist. Most important to Charles was spending time with his family.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc, in Portage. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. James Spontak and Deacon Daniel Perich Officiants. Interment in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery in Beaverdale.
