Obituary for Cheryl A. Burk
Burk, Cheryl A., 58 of Lilly, passed away on May 12, 2023 in Johnstown. She was born on November 9, 1964 in Johnstown. Cheryl was the daughter of Francis and Donna (Decort) Brown. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Roxanne Shaffer and her mother-in-law: Lois Burk.
Cheryl is survived by her husband John Burk of Lilly and her three daughters: Alicia wife of Jason Halerz of Portage, Angie Abbotts of Portage and Amy Abbotts of Lock Haven, PA and her 7 grandchildren: Kaleb, Colton, Sara, Gabe, Teegan, Ronnie and Braizyn. Cheryl was the sister of Frank “Peck” Brown of Portage, Roger Brown and wife Heidi of Northern Cambria and Brenda Rietscha of Portage. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Lindy wife or Wayne Robertson of Martinsburg and Lisa wife of Bill Lee of Williamsburg.
Cheryl was a hard worker. She loved to be a caregiver and help make her clients lives better. She enjoyed playing cards, trips to Clearfield with her husband John and most recently karaoke. Cheryl’s daughters will always remember their mom as being strong and fearless.
Family will receive a reception of friends on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Committal will be private to the immediate family.
