Obituary for David J. Cadwallader

Cadwallader, David J., 73 of Portage, passed away on July 6, 2024 in Altoona. He was born on January 22, 1951 in Johnstown. 

David was the son of Betty Ann (Gruss) and James Cadwallader. He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant twin brother. David is survived by his siblings: Robert Cadwallader, Marianne wife of Kenneth Borlie, Brian Cadwallader and Darlene wife of Michael Fox all of Portage. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

David was a retired maintenance foreman for Beth Energy Mines. He was a 1972 graduate of Penn State University where he obtained his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. David enjoyed basketball, cars and playing his drums with his friends. He also enjoyed taking his dog named Moose for rides on the back roads of Portage.

At the Cadwallader Family’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 12th, 2024 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, celebrant. Inurnment in St. Marys Cemetery in Portage.
