Obituary for Dawn M. Kline
Kline, Dawn Marie of Portage, PA, passed away on March 4, 2023, at the age of 55 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She spent her final days in the loving care of her family and loved ones.
Dawn was known for her contagious smile, upbeat attitude, and her generous spirit. She was born on September 11, 1967 and lived in Portage her entire life. Dawn proudly volunteered her time as a co-coordinator of Project Kids Place, which brought the community together to build a beautiful playground for the town park. She served on the Portage Summerfest Committee for 9 years, and was a Brownie and Daisy Troop Leader. Throughout the years, she had a party decorating business with her sister and housecleaning business on her own.
She was such a special person that she became a part of the families she worked with and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling (and was fortunate to make a few trips this past year), the beach, collecting seashell, and her favorite pink flamingos. Treasured memories of her will remain in our hearts, and her seashells are sure to be found everywhere in our homes.
Dawn held a special place in her heart to those who have helped her through this difficult time with their love and support, especially her daughter, Chalsea, and her cousin and best friend, Tina. Thank you to all who made her final days more bearable. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes (Zock) Tomasko and her brother, 1st Lt. Damian Tomasko, all of Portage. Her memory will be cherished by her children: Chalsea Kline of Portage, Heather-Lee (Ryan) Bednarski of Cresson and Bradley Kline (Amanda) of Portage and her grandchildren to whom Mimi/Grammy “loves you to the moon and back”, Raelyn Bednarski, Skyla Kline, Tess Smith, and Josie Smith; her sisters: Christine Tiracave (Eugene) of Cresson and Naomi Stager (Tom) of Portage.
Please join us as we say our final farewell to Dawn during a viewing on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4 to 8 PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10 AM, Fr. Thomas Stabile. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Portage.
