Obituary for Dawn M. Strayer
Strayer, Dawn M. – 39 of Portage, passed away on October 16th, 2020 at home. She was born on July 22, 1981 in Johnstown. Dawn was the daughter of Sandy (Shingler) Kehn and Ken “Sparky” Strayer. She is preceded in death by her father. Dawn is survived by her mother, Sandy of Portage and her sisters: Sherri wife Paul Homyak of Ligonier, Tracie wife of Jerry Kowalczyk of Summerhill, Renee Hagerich of Portage and Kim Strayer and wife Marty Oldham of Riddlesburg. She is also survived by her Aunt Bonnie Rusnak, who was very special to her and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her beloved canine companion: Rukus. Dawn enjoyed spending time with her friends, shooting a good game of pool and playing cornhole and bingo. She was a talented artist and she loved to draw and color. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage where a service will be held at 8 PM Tuesday evening. Committal will be private to the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dawn’s name to the Cambria County Humane Society.
