Obituary for Dolores J. Shedlock
Shedlock, Dolores J. “Dorie” 90 of Lilly, passed away on July 14, 2023 in Altoona. Born April 8, 1933 on Scanlan Hill (Lilly), Dorie was the daughter of John and Florence (Earnest) Muldoon. She is preceded in death by her parents; her infant siblings, Regis and Bernadette; her sisters, Elizabeth, Marie and Rita; and her brother, Thomas.
Dorie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Francis “Fritz”, and her sisters, Regina “Jean” Leja, and Anna Mae Wozniak, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A former employee at various garment factories in the area, Dorie was last employed and retired from the Portage Area School District with over 30 years of service in the cafeteria. In the 60s and 70s Dorie enjoyed country music concerts and she and Fritz saw most of the major acts of that era, and in her later years the music of Daniel O’Donnell became a new favorite.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant. Committal in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Portage.
