Obituary for Donald L. Kordish
Kordish, Donald L. – 79 of Portage, lost his courageous 15 year battle with cancer and went home to the Lord on May 7th, 2019. He was born on February 18th, 1940 in Portage. He was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Conley) Kordish.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joe Kordish and an infant sister Mary Kordish. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Mary C. (Lamb) Kordish, his sons: Don Kordish married to the former Tracey Smay, Andrew Kordish, a daughter: Debra wife of Jared Black, grandchildren: Ashley wife of Tyler Mackel, Sarah, Drew, and Will Kordish and Daysha Black and a great grandson: Bradley Mackel. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law: Angie (McGraw) Kordish.
Don was a Vietnam Veteran and he retired from the U.S. Navy in 1980 after 20 years of service. After his retirement he went to work in the Altoona VA. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 10th, 2019 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant. Inurnment in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Cresson. Graveside Military Rites.
