Obituary for Edward J. Markovich
Markovich, Edward J. – 61 of Portage, passed away on June 11, 2023 in Johnstown with his mother and family by his side. He was born on July 29, 1961 in Johnstown. Ed was the son of Elmer E. and Bertha I. (Pacsai) Markovich. He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer.
He is survived by his loving mother, his brother: Ron Markovich and wife Samantha (Fordick) and his sister: Lisa wife of Mark Lucas, all of Portage. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Evan Markovich, Haley Fordick, Andrew Phillips, Greg Lucas, Ashley (Lucas) wife of Brandon James, Alyssa (Phillips) wife of Brandon Nicholson and Tyler Phillips and wife Sabrina (Palguta) and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Ed enjoyed traveling, camping and he loved to hunt and fish. He was a Pittsburgh Penguins Fan. He was a member of the Jamestown Rod and Gun Club and the Portage Revolver and Pistol Club. Ed was a retired employee of Penn Metal Fabricators Inc. with 43 years of service.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11 AM, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant.
Committal in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Portage. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 509 Caldwell Avenue, Portage, PA 15946
