Elyar, Elizabeth J. – 91 of Portage Township, passed away on September 3, 2019 in Portage. She was born on June 1, 1928 in Gallitzin, PA. Betty was the daughter of Phillip and Marie (Earhart) George.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Alex Elyar, who passed on March 31, 2018, and infant son and these siblings: Phillip, Bill, Harry and Margaret. She is survived by her loving children: Alex and Kathy Elyar both of Portage Township. Betty is also survived by her sister-in-law: Margaret Pappas of NJ and numerous nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed spending time with her children. She was a good homemaker and she loved to cook.
At Betty’s request there will be no viewing and/or visitation. Committal services will be private to the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to the Activities Department at Maple Winds Nursing Care Center in Portage. On-line condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com
