Obituary for Ermin F. Wirfel
Wirfel, Ermin F. - 80 of Loretto, Munster Township, passed away on May 10, 2021 at home. He was born on November 22, 1940 in Summerhill Township. Ermin was the son of Felix and Adelaide (Illig) Wirfel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers: Charles, Leon, Robert, Cletus and David Wirfel.
Ermin is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Hazel B. (Freidhof) Wirfel of Loretto and his children: Veronica “Vicki” wife of Michael Krug of Munster; Randy Wirfel of Gillette, Wyoming; Barbara wife of Ronald Schrift of New Germany; David Wirfel and wife Donna (Zupon) of Munster; Tony Wirfel and wife Shelby (Scanlan) of Loretto and Kevin Wirfel and wife Vickie (Schrift) of Munster and 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Ermin is also survived by his siblings: Ann Bagshaw of McKeesport, PA; Frances wife of Richard “Dick” Wess of New Germany; Betty McCall of Summerhill; Mary Haberl of New Germany; Martha wife of John Smith of New Germany; Kenneth Wirfel and wife Anna Marie and Sisters-in-Law: Connie Wirfel of Munster and Shirley Wirfel of New Germany.
At Ermin’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11 AM at the Basilica of St. Michael in Loretto, Fr. John Byrnes, Celebrant. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial be made in Ermin's name to St. Michael Basilica, PO Box 10, Loretto, PA 15940 and/or UPMC, Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601.
