Obituary for Eugene P. Sitar
Sitar, Eugene P., 67 of Lilly, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 26, 2023. He was born on June 26, 1955 in Johnstown. Eugene was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Brutvan) Sitar. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife: Janice (Kuchera) Sitar of Lilly, his son: Jeremy Sitar of Portage and his daughter Elyssa Sitar of Lilly. He is also survived by his sisters: Margie wife of Gary Wood of Victor, NY and Sylvia wife of John “Butch” Mandichak of Portage and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was formerly employed and retired from Kuchera Defense Systems as Director of Manufacturing and API Technologies Corporation as their Business Development Manager. Eugene enjoyed his role of “Trail Boss,” leading the pack on his quad and snowmobile rides, working on his 1973 Dodge Challenger and going for Harley rides. He also loved working in the mines and he enjoyed his Dr. Pepper till the end.
At Eugene’s request there will be no services. Committal will be private to the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making donations to Windber Hospice, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, The National Brain Tumor Society and/or by donating blood in memory of Eugene. Blood donation was important to Eugene. He was a 4 + Gallon Red Cross Donor and he also donated platelets.
