Obituary for Floyd P. Eckenrode
Eckenrode, Floyd P. – 85 of Lilly, Munster Township, passed away on December 25, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He was born on October 9, 1936 in Loretto. He was the son of Faber P. and Mary T. (Miller) Eckenrode-Farabaugh. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife: Barbara Ann “Babs” (Shuty), whom he was married to for 59 years. He is also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
Floyd is survived by his loving children: Cindy wife of Ronald LeComte, Debbie Eckenrode, Kevin Eckenrode and wife Stephanie (Pyo), Stacy Eckenrode-Paronish, Brian Eckenrode and wife Dannielle (Parisi), Christopher Eckenrode, and Loriann wife of Larry Dennis. He was the proud grandfather of Lucas, Karly, Erica (Frank), Lauren, Steven, Lexi, Zachary, Stephanie, Kristen (Maddy), Renee, Kara, Jacob, Cody, Caleb, Carter, Caden, Miranda, Rocky and Rayder. He is also the proud great grandfather of Landen, Brody, Ava, Arlo and Serena. He was the brother of Clyde Eckenrode.
Floyd was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family and spending time together were important to he and his wife Barbara. He was strong in his faith and he was a devoted member of the Polish National Catholic Church in Lilly. Floyd served his Country proudly as a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was formerly employed by Cooney Brothers as a plant supervisor and by CMI Industry, Elgin Separation Solutions as a sales associate. Floyd enjoyed going the racetrack with his friend, Fred, bird feeding, watching deer and taking care of his lawn. He was an avid artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. He loved and looked forward to Kevin’s UFC fight nights with the boys.
