Obituary for Frank E. Babish
Babish, Frank E. – 81 of Portage, passed away on April 24, 2022 in Johnstown. He was born on July 16, 1940 in Portage. Frank was the son of Gaza and Mary (Serke) Babish. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother: John Babish, his brother-in-law: William Galla, his nephew James Galla and his niece Cyndi Galla.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda “Darlene” (Evans) Babish of Portage. They were united in marriage on September 18, 1971 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Portage. Frank is also survived by his sister: Alice “Mary” Galla of Portage and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a retired senior programmer analyst for Washington Gas Light Company, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Frank and his wife Darlene were active members and parishioners of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church, both in Portage. Frank enjoyed games on his computer and trips to the casinos. He also enjoyed a good dish of chicken paprikash.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage.
Committal will be held in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Portage.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a church of your choice for masses for Frank and/or a charity of your choice.
