Stombaugh, Gladys M. - 94 of Portage. Went to be with the Lord, on December 11, 2013. Born August 29, 1919 in Portage. The daughter of John and Mabel (Plummer) McDonnell. Preceded in death by parents, husband Donald T. Stombaugh and these siblings: Olive George, Leona Morgan, Anna Jean Lamar, John McDonnell, Jr. and Donald "Yank" McDonnell. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Gladys was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene in Portage. Gladys touched many lives, whether you were related or not she considered you family and she was known as "Aunt Gladys" to all. Throughout her life she helped to raise and take care of many children. At Gladys request there will be no viewing or visitation. Family will receive a reception of friends from 11AM until time of service at Noon, on Saturday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Portage., Reverend C. Edward Albert, officiating. Committal in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob. In lieu of flowers Gladys wished donations to be made to the Church of the Nazarene, C/O 1111 Main Street, Portage, PA 15946.
