Obituary for Illona R. Jaap
Jaap, Illona R. – 74 of Portage, passed away on February 2, 2017 in Johnstown. She was born on September 9, 1942 in Hartford, CT. She was the daughter of Helen (Hodge) and Frank Belinda. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Walter Jaap, Sr.
She is survived by her children: Robert Jaap and wife Jenny of Jacksonville, FL; Natalie wife of Harry Prosser III of Cresson, Walter Jaap Jr. of Portage; Michael Jaap and wife Rebecca of Cresson, Kimberly wife of Michael Regan of Greenbackville, VA and Douglas Jaap of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren: James, Bradley, Daniel, Heather, Harley, Emily, Eric, Ethan, Amelia, Kelly and Adam, Great Grandchildren: Teagan and Declan, and her sister: Teresa Kalinoski of West Lake, OH.
Illona was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Ladies Auxillary, President and member of the Womans Auxillary of the Portage American Legion, and an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She was also a former employee of Stagers Store.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Monday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home Inc. of Portage. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Bethany United Methodist Church in Portage, Pastor Arthur Black, Officiant. Committal will be private to the family.
