Obituary for Irene White
White, Irene - 98 of Portage, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2020. She was born on March 28, 1921 in Colver, PA. She was the daughter of Francis and Mae (Buck) Fox. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alex, grandson Terrence, her sisters: Sr. Mary Urban RSM, Frances Shura, Helen Bracken and her brothers: Charles, Anicetus, John, Edward, Richard, Clair, Donald and William.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Susan Stum (Jeff) of Middletown, PA, sons: Terrence (Cathy) and Timothy (Barb) both of Portage, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister: Anna Marie Westrick of Ebensburg and many nieces and nephews.
Everyone who knew Irene enjoyed her baked goods, especially her crescents. She enjoyed her family, bus trips with her friends to the mall and the outlets and her many trips to Ocean City. Irene loved HER politics.
At the family’s request there will be no viewing/visitation. All are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant. Inurnment will be private to the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 509 Caldwell Avenue, Portage, PA 15946. On-line condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com.
