Obituary for Jacqueline S. "Jackie" Schrift
Schrift, Jacqueline S. "Jackie" - 86 of Wilmore, passed away June 1, 2019 in Johnstown. She was born on July 11, 1932 in Altoona. Jackie was the daughter of Jesse and Josephine (Brennen) Klock. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Raymond L. Schrift and her siblings: Virginia “Ginny” Kick, Josephine “Sis” Stafford, Harriet “Tink” Pauley, James, Thomas and David “Dips” Klock.
Jackie is survived by her loving children: Paul Schrift and wife Lori (Sanders) of Wilmore, Jennifer wife of Steven Petrunak of Portage and Joseph Schrift and wife Dawn (Leap) of Portage; grandchildren: Michelle, Heather and Marc Schrift, Scott Petrunak and Tyler, Danielle and William Schrift and great grandchildren: Braden, Sophie, Isaak, Samantha, Jordyn and Lauren. Jackie is also survived by her sister: Sally Ohning of Wilmore, her sisters-in-law: Eileen Klock and Jackie Klock, both of Summerhill and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jackie was a 1950 graduate from Wilmore. She married the love of her life Raymond Schrift on November 1, 1950 at St. Bartholomew Church in Wilmore. She and her husband, Ray, were active members of St. Bartholomew Church and served as caretakers of the church cemetery for many years. Jackie enjoyed day trips to the casinos and playing bingo at the Portage Moose. Most of all, family was very important to Jackie and Ray, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was a care taker to all that she knew.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. of Portage. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Bartholomew Church in Wilmore, Fr. Joseph Nale, Celebrant. Committal in the church cemetery.
