Obituary for Fred Solarczyk
Solarczyk, James F. “Fred” – 79 of Lilly, passed away May 17, 2023, in Altoona. He was born May 1, 1944, in Cassandra, PA. Fred was the son of Andrew and Agnes (Biglin) Solarczyk. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Becky Mitchell.
Fred is survived by his loving wife Jean A. (Mutch) Solarczyk of Lilly and their children: Mike Solarczyk and wife Jean of MD; Gina wife of JR Hobson of FL; John Solarczyk and wife Patrice of FL; Anne wife of Chris Walters of MD and Fred Solarczyk and wife Angie of MD and grandchildren: Matt Solarczyk, Madison and Grace Hobson, Zach Solarczyk and wife Cassandra, Tanner and Peyton Solarczyk, CJ, Katie and Conor Walters, Abby Solarczyk and a great granddaughter, Magee. He is also survived by his sister: Donna wife of Julius Hodge of TX and his sister-in-law Margaret wife of Jerry Spaid of NC.
Fred was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He was a finish/brick mason and he was the owner and operator of his own construction company. He enjoyed racing snowmobiles, his cars, boating and “Lake Life.” Most important to Fred was spending time with his wife and family.
Family will receive a reception of friends on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 1:00PM until time of 3:00PM Service at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc in Portage, with Deacon Samuel Albarano. Committal will be private.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given Fred by the staff at Maybrook Nursing Home and UPMC Altoona Hospital.
