Obituary for James R. Miller, Sr.
Miller, James R. Sr. – 68 of Johnstown, passed away on July 5, 2018 in Johnstown. He was born on December 2, 1949 in Johnstown. He is the son of Russell and Florence Miller. Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary C. (Arthur) Miller of Johnstown and their children: Kerry L. wife of Robert Geisel of Johnstown, Judith L. Trotz of Curwensville, Bonnie J. Miller of South Carolina, Sherry M. Miller, James R. Miller Jr. and wife Jennifer, and Shane M. Miller and wife Stephanie, all of Johnstown. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Jim is the brother of: Vernon Miller Sr. and wife Sonja of Mercer County, PA, Bonnie wife of Howard Riddell of Johnstown, Rosie Seger of Windber, Margorie wife of Robert Miller and Joseph Miller, Sr. and wife Susan, all of Johnstown.
Jim was a former Taxi Cab driver with over 18 years of service. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Most importantly Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who knew him as “Big Pappy”.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Monday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. of Portage, where a service will be held on Monday, July 9th at 4 PM. Committal will be private to the family.
