Obituary for Jane Boast
Boast, Jane – 91 of Portage, passed away on May 17, 2024 in Altoona. She was born on October 5, 1932 in Hebron, IN. Jane was the daughter of James V. and Zala J. (Henderson) Natale. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Boast, her brother, Donald Natale and her son-in-law, James Townsend, II.
Jane is survived by her children: Keith Boast and his wife Patricia (Chappell) of Blue Knob, Lynn Townsend of Portage and Gary Boast and his wife Susan (Ortega) of Portage. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Deanna (Aaron), Carla (Nathan), Jesse (Amy), Scott (Stacy), Mercedes (Zach), Garrett (Anne), Matthew (Catrina) and 14 great grandchildren.
Jane was well known to all near and far for her skills as a seamstress. She helped to make many memorable proms, wedding and events possible. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed conversation over a good cup of coffee. Jane enjoyed keeping up on current events, movies, watching her tv programs, music and reading. Family was important to Jane and she enjoyed the time she spent with her loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately amongst Jane’s family. Committal in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Blue Knob. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Jane’s name to the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, 138 Veterans Boulevard, Duncansville, PA 16635.
