Obituary for Jeffrey A. Burkey
Burkey, Jeffrey A. – 54 of Portage, formerly of Salix went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2021 in Portage. He was born on September 14, 1967 in Johnstown. Jeffrey was the son of Donald C. Burkey, Sr. and Sandra (Pauley) Burkey. He is preceded in death by his father and his grandparents: George and Vivian Pauley and Donald and Emma Burkey.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother Sandra Burkey of Salix and his beloved son: Braden Burkey of Hollidaysburg. He is also survived by his siblings: Sherry (Burkey) wife of Steve Kovach of Duncansville, Donald C. Burkey, Jr and his wife Michelle (Tranquill) of New Germany, Jessica (Burkey) wife of Chad Rudnik of Sidman, Jennifer (Burkey) wife of Jared Hammond of Valencia and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeffrey was previously employed as a respiratory therapist. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He was a fan of basketball, football and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was especially proud of his son, Braden, and enjoyed watching him play hockey.
At Jeffrey’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Salix Bethel United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 4 PM. Pastor Don Poole.
