Obituary for John D. Behe
Behe, John D. "Bucky" -78 of Portage Township. Passed away on October 6, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. Born March 31, 1936 in Lilly. The son of Emma (Earnest) and Francis Behe. Preceeded in death by parents. Survived by loving wife of 57 years, Nancy (Walls) Behe and these children: Wanda K. Behe of NY; Janice wife of Winston Thompson of MISS; and Glenn Behe and wife Karen (Osman) of Portage. Grandchildren: John Ronan and wife Dottie; Glenn "Bubba" Behe, Courtney Ronan, and Matthew Hagerich and great granddaughters: Alivia Brooke and Alexis Rae Barto. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Dorothy Higgins, MD; Mary Jane wife of Paul Reed of KY; Joe Behe and wife Patricia (Davis) of Lilly; Annie wife of Dan McMillan of Ebensburg and Theresa wife of Kenneth Fodor of Lilly. Bucky was a retired coalminer, a member of the American Legion Post #628 in Lilly, a member of the Benscreek Social and Citizens Club where he played horseshoes and a member of the Jamestown Rod and Gun Club. He was Navy Veteran who served his country proudly with honor. Bucky will be remembered as being an all around honest man who enjoyed time with his family, especially with his great granddaughters Alivia and Alexis, who were his pride and joy. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Friday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. of Portage. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at The Martindale Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Pastor Tim Dietrich, officiant.
