Obituary for John J. Saparo
Saparo, John J. 70 of Lilly, departed this life, on May 22, 2024 at home. He was born on February 23, 1954 in Altoona. He is preceded in death by parents, Michael and Palma (Albarano) Saparo, sister, Carmella R. Saparo, Uncle John Albarano, Aunt Caroline and Uncle Michael Biglin, Aunt Jean and Uncle Cheech Albarano, Cousins, Michael Biglin, MaryLou Popsom.
He is survived by his brother, Michael P. Saparo and his wife Doreen (Patterson) of Aurora, CO. Aunt Patricia and Uncle Michael Felus, and cousins Carmie Albarano, Linda Albarano, Joey Albarano, Charlie Albarano, Francis Albarano, Brian and Pam Drass, Carmen and Nick Felus, Michelle and Theresa Biglin, Richard Zello, George Zello, Betty Ann Barr, Vicky Albarano and Johnny Albarano.
“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live…” (John 11:25), John was free-spirited and lived as God would want. He was devoted to his family and friends and professed to love and care for others in need. John was proud to be a Lilly citizen and enjoyed sports and outdoor activities. He will truly be missed.
Family will receive a reception of friends on Thursday, June 20th, 2024 from 9 AM until time of Memorial Mass at 10 AM. Fr. Matthew Reese, celebrant. Committal in St. Brigid Cemetery in Lilly. The Saparo Family is being served by the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. in Portage.
A Special thanks to all friends and family that helped John daily especially to John’s cousin Joey Albarano, and his good friend, Pat Erzal.
