Obituary for John M. Borlie
Borlie, John M. - 82, of Portage, went to be with the Lord Jesus on June 18, 2019. Born Oct. 05, 1936, son of the late John F. and Mary (Moyer) Borlie. He was preceded in death by parents and parents-in-law Carl and Dorothy Klatt; brothers Ralph, Cletus and Leo; sisters Irene Gray and Rita Farabaugh.
Survived by loving wife of 57 years Regina (Jean Klatt) Borlie and children Peggy Borlie, Crissy (Dan) Cotchen, John Jr. (Tracy Olszewski), Susan (Dave) Cyran, Bart (Valerie Stock), Stephen Borlie and Brenda (Wayne) Johnson. He is survived by his grandchildren Danny, Samantha, Justin, Nicole, Joey, Kevin, Anastasia, Derek, Carly, Isabella and Georgia. Survived by his pride and joy, great grandchildren Kaidance, Maverick, Josephine, Jackson, Belle, Evelyn, Alina, Lynnlee, Jaynee, Anna, Stella and grandson on the way as well as his two faithful canine companions Duke and Turbo. Also survived by sisters Ann (Ron) Vena, Frances Borlie, Mary (J. George) Plunkett and Hilda (Tom) Sossong; brothers-in-law Bill (Margaret), Ted (Darlene) and Steve (Rose) Klatt and sisters-in-law: Pearl Borlie, Pat (Hayden) Schrift and Irene Wills.
John loved farming and raised his children to appreciate the land and the value of hard work, respect and that family means everything. He considered his marriage and 7 children his greatest achievements. He retired from Cooney Brothers Coal Co. with over 30 years of service and was a talented heavy equipment operator. He will be greatly missed by those that he knew and who loved him. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a lifetime member of the Jamestown Rod n Gun. He loved hunting and fishing.
Family & friends will be received on Friday, June 21st, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. of Portage. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 22nd 2019 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 509 Caldwell Ave. Portage. Father Tom Stabile, T.O.R, Celebrant. Committal will be held in St. Bartholomew Church Cemetery in Wilmore.
