Miller, Joseph Edward, Sr. - 79 of Portage. Passed away January 8, 2014 at home. Born May 10, 1934 in Portage. The son of Fredrick and Margaret (Wyncoop) Miller. Preceded in death by parents, sons: Fred and Jim Miller and a brother: Fred Miller. Survived by wife: Phyllis (Swires) Miller of Portage and these children: Joseph E. Miller and wife Katheryn of Altoona; Margaret wife of Raymond Nevarre of Portage; Rose Shauf of Portage; Anita Bonneau of OH; and Michael Miller of Cresson. Also survived by grandchildren: Edward Plummer, Jason Miller, Julia and Adam Bonneau, Michael Miller, Jr. and Hannah and Isabella Rose Miller; great grandchildren: Shaylynn and James Miller. Brother of Albert Miller of Portage. Joe served his Country in the United States Army and he was a Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed going camping and taking walks in the woods especially at the Crichton McCormick Park in Portage. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Friday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Saturday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Andrew Draper, Celebrant.
