Obituary for Joseph J. "Didge" Krisko
“Didge” – 82 of Portage, passed away on March 7, 2021 in Johnstown. He was born on July 24, 1938 in Jamestown, Portage, Township. Joseph was the son of Joseph Sr. and Mary (Sikora) Krisko. He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Nathan Burk, and his brother, Gary Krisko.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Ann (Bodosky) Krisko. They were united in marriage on May 12, 1962 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Cassandra. He is also survived by his loving daughters: Kathleen wife of David Pike of Hollidaysburg and Karen wife of Scott Burk of Portage and their children: Nicholas Burk and Fiancee’ Andrea Wallack of Hollidaysburg and Nolan and Olivia Burk. Joseph was the brother of Louise Krisko, Joann Kisic, Eugene Krisko and wife Annette and Thomas Krisko and wife Martha, all of Jamestown.
He was a 1956 Graduate of Portage Area High School and a graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute. He was formerly employed by Bethlehem Steel as an electrician. Joseph was a member of the former Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Polish Catholic Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Ushers Club. He also served as a past officer and he was a lifetime member of the Jamestown Rod and Gun Club.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant. Committal in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Portage. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s name to the Nathan Burk Scholarship Fund, C/O Bishop Carroll Catholic Highschool, 728 Benjamin Franklin Highway, Ebensburg, PA 15931.
