Schrift, Joseph R., 54 of Lilly, passed away on September 23, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1970 in Johnstown, PA. Joe was the son of Jacqueline "Jackie" (Klock) and Raymond Schrift.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law: Rebecca Hartman. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dawn A. (Leap) Schrift, of Lilly, and their children: Tyler J. Schrift (Whitney Kendall), of Morgantown, W.Va.; Danielle R. Schrift (Tyler Thomas), of Irwin, Pa.; and William L. Schrift, of Lilly.
Joe is also survived by his siblings: Paul Schrift (Lori), of Wilmore, and Jennifer Petrunak (Steven), of Wilmore; his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his mother and father-in-law: Patti (Dobrowolsky) Leap and Rob Leap; his brothers-in-law: Bobby and Cody Leap and his special fur babies: his "big buddy." Bartholomew, and his "little girl," Patches.
Joe was currently employed as a night-time supervisor with McAneny Brothers in Ebensburg, Pa. He enjoyed his job and performed it with much pride. Joe previously worked at US Food Service for 25 years. His co-workers, who became work family, meant a great deal to him. Joe was a dedicated "Pops" to his children, whom he loved with all his heart and called his greatest achievements. His favorite hobbies were cooking with his kids and for his family, gardening, and going fishing.
At Joe's request, all services are private to his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Portage Area Ambulance Association for their immediate and selfless service.
