Obituary for Kathleen Smetana
Smetana, Kathleen “Kathie” – 71 of Martindale, passed away on September 30, 2020 at home. She was born on January 1, 1949 in Martindale. Kathie was the daughter of Stanley and Marie (Pauli) Smetana. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: James Smetana and Crist “Buddy” Robine and her brother-in-law: Richard Huber. Kathie is survived by her sisters: Eileen wife of Carl Eicher of VA and Patricia Huber of Summerhill and her nieces and nephews: Debbie Hamilton of VA; Carl Eicher Jr. and wife Angela of MD; and Richard Huber and Husband Tyler of DE. She is also survived by her sister-in-law: Janet Robinson and her family: Jennifer, Jim, Crist, Kevin and families and her special friends: Pam and Ron “Bugsy” Krisko and Marilyn Lombardi. Kathie was a 1966 graduate of Portage Area Highschool. She was a retired airline stewardess for TWA, where she enjoyed traveling the world. Kathie loved spending time with her family and friends and was always the life of the party. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 from 1PM until time of service at 3PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage, Pastor Peter Helmers, officiant. Committal will be in Prospect Cemetery in Portage. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Kathie’s name to First Lutheran Church in Portage.
