Obituary for Leonard J. Mihalko
Mihalko, Leonard J. “Butch”– 77 of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Portage, PA, passed away on January 29, 2021 in FL. He was born on October 20, 1943 in Portage. Leonard was the son of Joseph and Angeline “Nell” (Barnish) Mihalko. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son: Leonard J. Mihalko, II. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 41 years: Barbara (Keesler) Mihalko of Cape Coral, FL. They were united in marriage on January 4, 1980. He is also survived by his loving daughters: Robin, wife of Tim Barrett of Bowie, MD and Stacy, wife of Gary Robertson of Elkridge, MD and his grandchildren: Crystal and Travis Barrett, Breeanna Mihalko and Gary Robertson. Leonard is also survived by his sister: Phyllis Klein widow of Bill Klein, Sr. “Wink” of Portage and his nephew: Gregory Klein, and his wife Amy and children, Juliana and Jordan. He is also survived by Makayla and Nathaniel, the children of his late nephew, Bill Klein, Jr. He was formerly employed as a computer system analyst for the National Institutes of Health, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, MD. He was a former member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Portage, PA, where he was an altar server and a member of the Sacred Heart Ushers Club. Leonard was a 3rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was also currently an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Cape Coral, FL. where he was a volunteer on the Food Bank committee. A very compassionate man, Leonard was available to serve wherever needed. Viewing and Funeral Services will be private to the family. Committal will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Portage.
