Obituary for Leslie K. Shedlock
Shedlock – Leslie Kay, 64, Bedford, PA formerly of Portage, passed away on January 14, 2021, at home, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Leslie was the daughter of the late Gregory and Lurencia Burgess and Chester and Marjorie Hochrein. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Shedlock, their infant daughter, Brittany Lea. Her father and mother in law, Steve and Kathryn Shedlock. Also, her precious dog Belle. Survived by her son, Brett Lysinger and wife Kelly, Lavale, MD. Daughters, Andrea Lysinger, Washington, PA, Renee Latterner and significant other Shawn, Rawlings, MD. Her grandchildren, Gabriel, Ella Grace and Hunter. Siblings, Ross Burgess, Chambersburg, Maryann Brunnet wife of Don, Portage, Marybeth Maloskey, wife of Tom, Chambersburg, Chester Hochrein and wife Renee, Cassandra. Numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her dog, Abner.
Leslie graduated in 1974 from Portage Area High School and attended St. Francis College. She was formerly employed by Appalachian Rehabilitation. Member of the Fort Bedford VFW Post 7527 and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Portage. Leslie had a great love for animals and the work of the Humane Society. She was a proud Bishop Carroll High School supporter and avid fan of the Huskies. Leslie was a strong supporter of law enforcement and proudly backed the blue. At Leslie’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Friends are invited to a memorial mass at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 10 AM, the Very Rev. Thomas Stabile VF celebrate. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to the Allegany County Sheriffs Office FOP Lodge #144 or the Bedford County Humane Society.
