Louise was born December 31, 1929, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2022. Preceded in death by father, Amedeo Tranquillo; mother, Theresa (Gigliotti) Tranquillo; and siblings, Rose Gaultiere (Frank), Virginia Rapone (Paul), Gemma Yarnish (John), Matilda Duke (Charles), Victor F. Tranquillo (Patricia), Alfred M. Tranquillo (Sylvia), and sister-in-law Rose Ann (Roberts) Tranquillo. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Louise loved her hometown of Lilly, PA, having lived in the same family home of her birth until her death. She was the last surviving child of Amedeo and Theresa Tranquillo family. Louise never had any children of her own, but was a loving and caring mother to her nieces and nephews over the years. She was well known to lovingly “tweak a cheek” of any child (and some adults) within her reach.
After graduating from high school, Louise went to work with a local company, Frank Calandra Incorporated. Her first job turned out to be her only job, enjoying a career of over fifty years working with three generations of the Frank, Sr. and Mary Calandra family. Louise was an avid bowler for over 70 years, competing in many leagues throughout the area. She was a lifelong parishioner and choir member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home, Portage, PA. At Louise’s request, there will be no viewing. Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church, Lilly, Fr. Matthew Reese, celebrant.
