She was 96 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband: Stephen Baran, her only grandson: Steven Baran, and her siblings: Emma Lamar, Lucinda Trunk and sister-in-law: Betty Salsgiver. Margaret is survived by her sons: Stephen Baran and his wife Ruth, of Kissee Mills, MO and Robert Baran and his wife Regina, of Deltona, FL. Also by her granddaughters: Tamberly Rafferty and her husband Martin, of Plattekill, NY: Melissa Holsinger and her husband Torry, of Havre, MT and Jennifer Martin and her husband Dustin, of Ozark, MO.

If asked to describe Margaret, family and friends would definitely use words such as; warm, gentle, kind, gracious, thoughtful and generous. There wasn't anything or anyone more important to her, than her family. She was always on your side, had your back, had a shoulder to cry on, laughed with you and was often a confidant. They are incredibly sad and will miss her terribly, but are comforted by the fact that she has been reunited with her husband and loved ones who have gone before her.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., in Portage, PA and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 10 A.M. Pastor Mark Fischer, officiant. Committal will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Blue Knob. On-line condolences may be made at www.decortfh.com
