Obituary for Peg Gailey
Gailey, Margaret H. “Peg”, 92 of Lilly, passed away on January 15, 2023 at home. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Cassandra, PA. Peg was the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Shaw) Freidhof.
She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son: Paul, an infant daughter: Deborah and a grandson-in-law: Master Sergeant, Kyle Baker. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Henry, Thomas, D. Paul “Kutch”, George “Worm” Freidhof and Ethel “Tillie” Gressick.
Peg is survived by her loving husband James M. Gailey and their children: Thomas Gailey and wife Bernice (Eckenrode) of Lilly, Rebecca wife of John Oklamchak of Munster, Shirley wife of Dave Strittmatter of Munster and Gerald Gailey and wife Gloria (Little) of Munster. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Carey Cabala (Rob), Gloria Baker, Clint Gailey, Daniel Oklamchak (Samantha), Heather Strittmatter, Doug Strittmatter (Jenny), Chad Strittmatter (Katie), Brenda Kass (Anthony), Deborah Long (Michael), Jason Gailey (Jackie), Waylon Gailey (Dominique), Elizabeth Gailey and 31 Great Grandchildren. Peg was the sister of Raymond “Goob” Freidhof Jr. of Munster, Jane Kiel of Munster, Janet wife of John Knapp of Munster, Hazel Wirfel of Loretto, Mary “Marzy” wife of Larry Springer of Carrolltown and Dorothy “Doat” wife of Regis Lee of Munster.
Peg was a retired personal care aide. She loved her family, mowing grass and going on short family vacations. The holidays and getting family together were very important to Peg.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10 AM at the Basilica of St. Michael in Loretto, Fr. John Byrnes, celebrant. Committal will be private.
