Obituary for Marie Ann Bowman
Aunt Betsy, 89 of Portage, passed away at home on May 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 1, 1926 in Portage. She was the daughter of Carmine and Bridget (Natale) DeMatteis. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Raymond Bowman, Sr. sister: Nicolena Kish, brothers-in-law: Louis Kish and Arthur Martynuska. She is survived by her siblings: Carmella Martynuska of Lilly, Michael DeMatteis and wife Beverly of Ohio, James DeMatteis and wife Shirley of Portage and Patricia Huber and Husband William of Williamsport, PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Aunt Betsy was a gentle and loving woman who shared her artistic creations with those she loved. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home Inc. of Portage, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, Fr. Joseph Janiszeski, celebrant. Committal in St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Wilmore. Thanks to the staff of the Conemaugh Transitional Care Unit and a very special thank you to the ladies who provided Aunt Betsy with such wonderful care at home.
