Obituary for Marie Smetana
SMETANA - Marie, 89, Portage, passed away March 9, 2015, in Portage. Born March 25, 1925, in Portage, daughter of John and Dora (Runkel) Pauli. Preceded in death by parents; husbands, Crist Robine and Stanley Smetana; sons, James Stanley Smetana and Crist "Buddy" Robine; and siblings, Emma Rucosky, Clarabelle Krause and Elwood, Earl and Bill Pauli. Survived by daughters, Eileen, wife of Carl Eicher, Woodbridge, Va.; Kathleen Smetana, Portage; and Patricia, wife of Richard Huber, Summerhill. ��Grandchildren: Deborah; Carl Jr., and wife, Angela; Jennifer; James; Crist; Kevin; and Richard Stanley, 12 great-grandchildren. ��Also survived by brother Bobby Pauli of Portage and a daughter-in-law, Janet. ��She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Portage. Marie loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed traveling the world with her beloved husband, Stanley. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Portage. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Portage, Pastor John J. Palko, officiant. Committal, Prospect Cemetery, Portage.
