Obituary for Mary C. Kordish
Kordish, Mary C. – 81 of Portage, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at home on March 8, 2024, after a long courageous battle with health issues. She was born on May 16, 1942 in Kinsley, Kansas. Mary was the daughter of Louise (Besser) Lamb. Mary was raised in the Midwest and she moved to New Hampshire, there she married the love of her life Don and they settled in Portage.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald L. Kordish, an infant daughter, brother, Ernie Lamb (Liz) and a sister, Patricia Schonfield.
She is survived by her sons: Donald A. Kordish and his wife Tracey (Smay), Andrew Kordish, her daughter: Debbie wife of Jared Black. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley (Tyler) Mackle, Sarah, Drew and Will Kordish and Daysha Black and great grandchildren: Bradley and Barrett Mackle. Mary was the sister of Leroy Lamb, Eddie Kovanas, Debbie Viet and Deloras Thompson.
Mary was a very strong willed woman with a heart of gold, loving and non-judgmental. She never looked down on anyone and would lend a hand to all of those who needed it. Mary wouldn’t want anyone to cry for her but to celebrate her fully healed and back in the arms of her true love.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 10 AM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stable.
