Obituary for Mary E. Gorba
Mary Elizabeth Gorba, of Sandyville, WV, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at home after a short illness at the age of 87.
She was born in Sonman, PA, on May 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Frederick William and Edna Ethal (Rhodes) Gorba of Portage, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and guardian of several years, Anna June Hermsdorfer, and several other brothers and sisters.
She was a favorite aunt and a good friend to many. She enjoyed doing picture puzzles and word search. She was a member of Centennial Community Church in Ripley and also attended St Matthews Church in Ravenswood.
She is survived by nephews James Robert Hermsdorfer, Jr. of Rawlings, MD, and her guardians, Joseph Charles Hermsdorfer (Penny) of Sandyville, WV, her nieces Linda Fillapone (Mike Mostardi) of Wayne, Philadelphia and Eileen (Dave) Dawson of Exton, PA, great nieces Annie Link (Mike) of Harrisburg PA. and Amber Conard (Tommy) of Jacksonville, FL.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Mount Union Cemetery in Summerhill, PA, Fr. Thomas Stabile.
