Obituary for Michael J. Wallace, Sr.
Wallace, Michael J. Sr. – 77 of Portage, passed away on May 7, 2021 in Pittsburgh. He was born on November 18, 1943 in Lilly. Michael was the son of John and Catherine (Yogus) Wallace. He is preceded in death by his parents, his great grandson: Carson Muscatello and his sister: Monna Eger.
Michael is survived by his loving wife: Betty (Farabaugh) Wallace of Portage and his children: Michelle wife of Eric Moratti, Michael Wallace, Jr. and Matthew Wallace, all of Portage. He is also survived by his grand daughters: Jenna Moratti and Destiny Wallace and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was the brother of Donna Wallace of Cresson.
He was a US Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War. Michael loved hunting, fishing and cooking. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and PennState Football. Michael was a member of the Portage Moose and the Jamestown Rod and Gun.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM at the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Portage, Fr. Thomas Stabile, Celebrant. Due to Covid-19, please be respectful and follow the state recommended social distancing guidelines. Masks are required at Church. Committal in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Portage.
