Obituary for Michael Nemec
Nemec, Michael – 70 of Jamestown, passed away on June 8, 2024 in Johnstown. He was born August 27, 1953 in Johnstown. The son of Veronica and George Nemec. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Ronna (George) Burda and Judy (Minor) Moyer, his stepson, Michael Burda and siblings: Paula, Mary, Helen, Anna, Verna, George, John, Joseph, Anthony and Albert.
Mike is survived by his children, Schelley Ebersole and husband Steve of Portage, Justin Nemec and Marissa Lashley of Ebensburg and Alicia Nemec of Cumberland, MD. He is also survived his grandchildren, Brittany Michaels (Tyler Hess), Bryan Michaels, Jr., Brett Michaels (Briana Bagby) and Steven Ebersole, Christopher Lashley, Matthew Nemec and Isaac Nemec, Keenin and Rylyn Gorchik, his great grandchildren, Kaisen and Leighton Hess and numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Raymond George and his wife Mimi of Cassandra and his “other children”, Dione Chambers-Feeney and husband Ralph of Portage. Mike was the brother of Cecilia Baer of Portage.
He was formerly employed by Say-Core. Mike loved fast cars, especially Ford Mustangs. He loved working on cars, going to drag races and car shows. He enjoyed going shooting with his kids and grandkids and great grandson and loved cooking and having get-togethers with his family.
At the family’s request there will be no viewing, visitation or service. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 2PM at 111 Penn Avenue, Portage, PA 15946. The Nemec Family is being served by the Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. in Portage. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
